Key Aims
Some of our key aims are -
To help the partners to share information, support each others work and work together on practical actions to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities in health particularly with those who experience or are most vulnerable to the worst health in Newry and Mourne.
To monitor issues associated with Review of Public Administration and work in advance of implementation to ensure health and wellbeing is included as part of Community Planning. Following implementation WAP would be very willing to participate as active partners in any future Community Planning structure.
To explain and help people to understand the ‘Investing in Health’ agenda at local level.
To promote and support community development and show how people, their communities and their organisations can improve health and wellbeing in Newry and Mourne.
To provide an effective structure (WAP) to help people and organisations to influence decision making, service planning and provision affecting the health and wellbeing of Newry and Mourne.
To provide, where possible, links with the wide range of strategies, policies and projects which aim to improve health and wellbeing in Newry and Mourne.
